Kim Delaney, an American actor best known for her role as Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she won the Emmy Award. Her appearances comprise All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was the only daughter of the United Auto Workers executive and his wife, who was a household worker. Her childhood was spent in a home with four other brothers. Although she was a child with a dream of becoming a journalist, it wasn't until high school that she began modeling. Following her move away from New York City and gaining experience as a commercial model at New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. As a teenager the first time she appeared as an actress was in the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. While she has a successful professional life, Delaney's private life isn't as successful and happy. The actress, who is gifted and gorgeous, has struggled with drinking before. Her marriages have also ended in failure two times. The actress lost custody of her son in the year 2005.
