Kristin Fischer will join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In this role, Fisher is in charge of covering all things from NASA's newly-created Space Force to commercial space companies and space tourism. Kristin's parents were each NASA astronauts. Kristin spent her childhood in space. She has also employed as an White House reporter for FOX News, covering both the Biden and Trump administrations on space issues. Also, she covered the 2020 presidential campaign and the efforts of two administrations to fight the coronavirus. Former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan for a restricted trip. Kristin has worked in the newsrooms of local markets like Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Washington, D.C. for over a decade before being hired by the CBS network. Kristin was the recipient of the Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. as a CBS affiliate's one-man band reporter. Kristin founded Field Mouse Films with her experience behind the camera in 2014. The company specialized in making documentary films for corporate clients including Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin holds a Bachelor's degree in journalism from Boston University. Kristin is married to her daughter, and her 3-year-old daughter in Washington, D.C.
